Lessons are generally once a week.
Bi-weekly or alternate-week lessons may be available, as my schedule allows.One time or "occasional" lessons are also possible (not recommended for beginners).
Family discounts are available for families with more than one child (or adult) taking lessons.
I accept cash or checks, and prefer pre-payment (but am happy to work out other arrangements).
Other items you will need for your lessons:
1. An instrument in playable condition (I can help change strings/tune/etc).
2. Lesson book - I will tell you which book at time of lesson. The books range in cost between $5 and $12.
3. Electric guitar players will need an amp and a cable (for practice at home. I have an amp for lessons).
4. Clarinet players will need reeds.
Other helpful items:
extra picks, music stand, blank music paper, capo (guitar), tuner or pitch pipe, extra music books, folder for loose music.
POLICIES:
Payment is due at the time of your lesson. Lessons may be paid for at each lesson, or as a group of lessons ahead of time (for example a month of lessons pre-paid). I prefer advance payment. I accept cash or checks made out to “Abby Grush”.
“No shows” or last minute cancellations will still be charged for the missed lesson. Sometimes a make-up lesson is possible, but not always (my schedule tends to get very full). I will try my best to reschedule you. If I miss a lesson (due to illness or other emergency) you will not be charged for that lesson.
If you need to cancel a lesson, please give me at LEAST 24 hour notice, if possible. You will not be charged for cancelled lessons with advance notice. If you have prepaid for a group of lessons, your payment will carry-over to the next lesson.
Please realize that this is how I make my living. Students who are frequent "no-shows" without payment will lose their spot.
